Abstract:The research field of consumption geography has expanded greatly over the past three decades, transcending the traditional boundary between economy and culture, and gradually taking a dominant position. Geographies of consumption are marked by attention to a diverse range of studies underpinned by different theoretical traditions and perspectives which together provide insight into spatialities, socialities and subjectivities associated with consumption. This study focuses on the consumption practice of Miao embroidery, the intangible cultural heritage on traditional festivals. This paper interprets the consumption practice of Miao embroidery on a traditional festival-Zimei festival by using participatory observation and depth interview, from four dimensions (ground body, mobile body, settled space, temporary space). It is found that the consumption practice of Miao embroidery has an important influence on the transmission and metaphor of regional characteristics, functions and meanings of culture, the discourse and practice of consumption position the body in a specific space, which in turn affects the embodied consumption practice. In this case, the traditional ZimeiFestival provided the field of consumption for Miao embroidery, and in turn, the consumption practice of Miao embroidery deepened the meaning connotation of the traditional Zimei festival. As an important reality in the traditional life of the Miaopeople, Miao embroidery can be seen from this case that it has inheritance soil in the nation. Key words: consumption
